Salary: £28000 - £30000/annum plus car allowance

We are looking for a driven and dynamic Assistant Area Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in generating new business opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with clients, contractors, and internal colleagues, and helping us exceed annual sales targets. As part of our collaborative team, you will work closely with the Senior Area Manager and the technical department to lead, assist, and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring outstanding service is delivered to clients.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in specification sales and market sector opportunities, delivering comprehensive reports and specifications, managing client relationships, and driving the success of our projects. Your contribution will be integral to the continued growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Business Development: Assist in the generation of new specification and project opportunities within your assigned geographical area, ensuring the growth of both the client base and business revenue.

* Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain positive day-to-day relationships with existing and new clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring exceptional service is always provided.

* Strategic Planning: Collaborate with your Senior Area Manager to understand the company's business plan and objectives, contributing to the creation of a shared vision for the area.

* Project Support: Support or lead on surveying projects, writing detailed condition reports, and creating specifications to meet client needs.

* Sales and Networking: Maximise business opportunities through specification sales, networking, and delivering CPD seminars to new clients.

* Market Research: Stay informed on market sector trends and identify new business opportunities, ensuring a proactive approach to client and contractor engagement.

* Project Management: Take responsibility for overseeing projects from concept to completion, ensuring a high conversion ratio and effective project tracking.

* Data Management: Maintain up-to-date client and contractor records in the company database, ensuring all information is accurate and actionable.

* Technical Competence: Continuously develop and demonstrate technical expertise through client interactions, reports, and specifications.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Education: A degree or relevant professional qualification (desirable), or equivalent NVQ.

* Industry Knowledge: Experience in specification sales within the construction industry, specifically in flat roofing or waterproofing systems.

* Client Relationship Management: Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors.

* Technical Skills: Experience in developing detailed written specifications and reports, with a strong understanding of building regulations and the British Standard Code of Practice.

* Sales & Target Driven: Experience working towards and achieving sales targets, including cold calling and developing new business.

* Presentation Skills: Comfortable delivering presentations and engaging clients and contractors at all levels.

* Independent Working: Comfortable with lone working, self-management, and the ability to plan and organise effectively.

* Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of flat roofing systems, public and private sector requirements, and the regulatory framework.

* Self-Motivation: A proactive self-starter, able to take ownership of tasks and initiatives with minimal supervision.
