Macildowie is excited to partner with a fantastic client to recruit a Payroll Assistant. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with numbers, and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a payroll function.
Role Overview:The Payroll Assistant will be responsible for the administration of all payroll and expense activities, ensuring that everything is completed accurately and on time. This position is crucial in supporting the business and its teams with any pay-related queries and ensuring compliance with all internal and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Administering payroll processes to guarantee timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Supporting month-end and year-end payroll procedures, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations relevant to payroll.
- Assisting in audit processes and implementing recommendations to enhance payroll practices.
- Continuously improving payroll and expense processes to streamline operations and enhance customer service.
- Maintaining high levels of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
- Communicating effectively with both internal and external customers to resolve payroll-related queries.
- Prioritising workloads to meet the expectations of the Payroll Manager.
- Contributing to payroll and expense projects, ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
- Building strong partnerships with stakeholders to deliver efficient and customer-focused payroll services.
- Processing and reviewing employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
What We're Looking For:The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with the full payroll lifecycle and a solid understanding of relevant statutory deadlines and regulations.
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong relationships and deliver effective solutions.
- A curious approach to identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
- The ability to work to deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
- Previous HR and expense management experience is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators:The Payroll Assistant will be measured against:
- The timely and accurate completion of monthly payroll.
- The submission of statutory and third-party payments within defined timescales.
- The accuracy and efficiency in resolving employee queries.
