The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be supporting pupils with Special Educational needs, throughout their day at school. Your duties within this job role will consist of encouraging the children to take part in academic, physical or sensory lessons put together by class teachers that is tailored to the class type. The additional needs you will encounter when working in this setting are Autism, SLD, PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities). Within this setting you may also experience some students with behaviours that challenge such as: ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional& Mental Health) and Heightened Anxieties. This role offers significant rewards for those dedicated to investing time and effort in making a positive impact on the children they support in a school setting.

This school will be based in the Sheffield area and is rated 'excellent' by a recent Ofsted report. The school caters for young children between the ages of 3 - 19 years old.

Requirements

To be considered for the Learning Support Assistant position, you will have:

• Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable

• An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one

• The ability to work on initiative and proactively

• The desire to work with young people with special educational needs

• A driving licence and car or accessible public transport links.

• Available Monday to Friday
