Handley James Chemical is partnered with a global refrigerant gas business, one of the biggest in Europe, to source an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team in Hinkley. This role is critical for the site, allowing you to improve upon existing processes and influence the wider engineering teams moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

* To support the Plant Manager and Operations & Compliance Manager in testing and inspection activities at NCT, acting as a Deputy Technical Manager alongside the Plant Manager as and when needed.

* To manage the day-to-day activities of the maintenance department, providing technical guidance and support where needed.

* Ensure company compliance with current and future statutory requirements developing and maintaining recoding systems against relevant requirements (PSSR, PUWER & LOWER etc.)

* Manage projects and capital spend with the Plant Manager and Managing Director to meet company strategic requirements.

* Manage the maintenance programs for NCT & NRL, developing existing recording systems to form a robust maintenance management system.

* Act as facilities manager for the NCT and NRL, ensuring timely execution of maintenance activities for the buildings, yard areas and any additional areas of company property.

* Be the subject matter expert in Pressure Safety Systems, working with internal and external service providers to ensure adherence to PSSR regulations including inspection and maintenance against written schemes of examination.

* Be the point of contact for regulatory site inspection as required.

* Ensure maintenance activities are recorded, working with the area supervisors to develop down time logs and failure analysis.

* Participate in root cause analysis / investigation of accidents and incidents as required.

* Select and manage contract maintenance / service providers to ensure companies adhere to NRL requirements for health and safety, quality of work and value for money.

* Develop and maintain departmental continuous improvement activities to avoid unnecessary expenditure or addition al down time as a result of incorrect maintenance activity.

Candidate Requirements

* Degree or equivalent vocational experience / qualification in a maintenance discipline (Electrical or Mechanical)

* Proven experience within a supervisory role within a technical discipline.

* Knowledge of Pressure Safety Systems Regulations.

* Strong IT and Communication skills.

* Ability to work across the two sites as and when required.

* Experience with maintenance tools, servicing and analytical equipment.

* Ideally you will hold previous experience in the receipt, storage and packaging of refrigerant gases, including cylinder preparation, materials handling and reclaimed gas recovery and cleaning.

This role will suit an existing Maintenance Manager who is looking to redefine and build upon the existing maintenance team and processes, or an experience supervisor/assistant manager who is looking for their next step into a leadership position.

In return our client is offering a salary of c£50,000 - £60,000pa depending on experience, bonus and benefits.
