About the Role:

Midlothian Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children and Families Social Worker to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, young people, and their families across Midlothian. You will be working within a supportive team, delivering high-quality services that promote the safety, well-being, and development of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess the needs of children and families, developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual circumstances.

Work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to ensure the best outcomes.

*

Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with national policies and legislation.

*

Provide ongoing support to children and families, helping them access appropriate services and resources.

*

Prepare clear and concise reports for court proceedings, child protection meetings, and other statutory processes.

*

Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance your skills.

About You:

We are looking for a passionate and resilient individual with the following:

A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.

*

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or eligibility to register.

*

Experience working with children, young people, and families in a social work setting.

*

Strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.

*

Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment.

*

A commitment to promoting positive change in the lives of children and families.

*

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
