Pastoral Officer - SEND Schools Trust, Chesterfield

Location: Chesterfield (Across Multiple Sites)Contract Type: Full-Time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday)Duration: Permanent

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? We are seeking a Pastoral Officer to join our trust of SEND schools in Chesterfield. This role involves working across multiple sites, so your own transport and a full driving licence are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to primary and secondary age pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties who are not in mainstream education.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, outside agencies, and staff within the schools to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the well-being and academic progress of students.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of pastoral support and interventions.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for students and staff.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or similar support role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents, external agencies, and school staff.
  • Own transport and a full driving licence are essential due to the need to travel across multiple sites.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
