Our client who is expanding their supply are now looking to appoint a Transport Manager to support their warehouse based in Evesham.

Working hours (Mon-Fri from 8am/5.30pm)
Weekend cover when required (Sat 8am-1pm or Sunday 8am-3pm)Role:

Ensure all vehicles are compliant with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Escalate identified issues working towards resolution in conjunction with the Head of Operations.
Supervision of all out-going distribution via our own fleet and subcontractors. Ensure all loads are checked and completed on time. The company may require you to work flexible hours to oversee the whole loading process.
Efficient organisation of the transport service, producing advanced run schedules & detailed daily briefs for drivers. It will be your responsibility to plan, cost and oversee the allocation of routes to vehicles, ensuring sufficient flexibility is considered to meet varying customer's needs.
Ensure all drivers follow all matters pertaining to company policy and complete the required paperwork throughout their shift.
Monitor and report negligent driving by any drivers or subcontractors. Any damage to the fleet must be recorded and necessary action taken. Deal with driver infringement compliance checks, Tycho management & speed checks.
Highlight any future training and resource requirements to the Head of operations.
Working collaboratively with all departments within the company where clear and concise communication is essential. Explore options to generate new business in conjunction with the company's sales team.
Wherever possible promote a positive, productive, team-based culture of continuous improvement. Manage, develop & up skill a team of drivers and transport assistant(s) to deliver a high-quality service that exceeds customer expectations.
Take the lead in resolving unforeseen problems as they arise. Ensuring appropriate steps are taken to improve the companies procedures and avoid a repeat of similar issues.
Ideally will hold a valid Forklift and ride-on certificate. Training can be provided.
Hold a transport manager CPC qualification and maintain the required standards.
To undertake any training deemed necessary to meet the company's performance & development requirements.
To comply with health and safety legislation, including the BRC standard for storage and distribution. Conducting risk assessments as required
