This exciting leadership role is part of a major Finance System Replacement project, driving transformation and modernisation of financial processes across a large and complex organisation. You will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, project sponsors, and end users to ensure that the new system capabilities align with business needs and deliver real benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead multiple workstreams, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of project outcomes and system capabilities.

* Act as the voice of the customer, engaging with stakeholders to represent user needs, presenting solutions, and ensuring requirements are met.

* Define and establish the target operating model, advocating behavioural changes and embedding new ways of working.

* Oversee the development and implementation of the new Chart of Accounts (CoA), engaging stakeholders, presenting worked examples, and creating supporting documentation.

* Manage project infrastructure, logistics, and high-quality documentation, ensuring alignment with delivery milestones and governance standards.

* Collaborate with project sponsors and provide regular updates and recommendations to the Project Board.

* Develop and execute engagement strategies, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure successful integration of project outcomes into business-as-usual operations.

Skills and Experience Required:

* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/CCAB) with excellent knowledge of UK financial reporting standards (FRSs) and the Higher Education SORP.

* Proven experience leading large-scale, complex transformation projects within finance or systems environments.

* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

* Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and tools like Microsoft Project.

* Experience implementing organisational change, promoting innovation, and overcoming resistance to new ways of working.

* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

* Knowledge of ITIL and service management methods is desirable.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
