Principal/Associate Transport Planner

Location: Central London

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 - Depends on Experience

An independent transport planning and engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced principal transport planner with 6 years plus of experience to join their team of 12 transport planners and 30 people in the London office.

Client Base:

The consultancy primarily serves private sector clients. As the transport planner, you will work on a variety of projects, including:

- Medium to large warehouses

- Residential developments ranging from (Apply online only) units to (phone number removed) units

- Commercial developments

- Food retailers

- Leisure projects

Role & Responsibilities:

- Securing work streams, agreeing fees and looking for entrepreneurial opportunities.

- Managing project finance, including change control, invoicing and debt.

- Approving project work including quality of work, management of staff and client liaison.

- Guardianship including developing, motivating, training and appraising junior staff.

- Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations and CDM regulations where required.

-  Maintaining professional status and CPD.

- Deputising for Associates when required.

- Expert witness duties when required in transport planning work;

- Approval of contract documents where required in infrastructure design work.

Technical Duties (This will be limited in this role but will be required from time to time):

- Supporting transport planning projects from forecasting and appraisal to gathering and analysing data for local modelling studies

- Producing local, national, and regional transport policy documents to support and improve the transportation network

- Developing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans to support planning applications

- Assessing the costs and benefits of transport schemes and programmes

- Developing and applying principles and techniques to change travel behaviour, including travel planning, travel marketing, walking and cycling initiatives, and journey planning

- Using software such as AutoCAD, ARCADY, PICADY, and LinSig for infrastructure design and modelling

Requirements:

- 6 years plus of experience in a similar transport planner position with a UK engineering consultancy

- Ideally chartered but not necessary, just need to be a member of CIHT or TPS
