The Standard sets the bar high again with the relaunch of The Rooftop in April, an open-air bar and terrace that turns the London skyline into the perfect backdrop for cocktails, beers, pizza, and great music. Work this Spring/Summer (April - October) with unparalleled views from our 11th floor rooftop bar in central London, with opportunities to transfer within the hotel's restaurants and bars thereafter.

Back by popoular demand, we are again celebrating our legendary rooftop bars and clubs in New York; open to guests and visitors throughout the summer, and hired out for private and music events, The Rooftop is our summer stage for striking parties and performances. Joyful, playful, and picturesque, The Rooftop is a hidden gem set high above the beaten path.

We are now looking for experienced Bar Supervisor to join The Rooftop opening team.

Your role

As The Rooftop Bar Supervisor, you will become part of an exceptional team that will launch this exciting venue onto the London scene.

You will be passionate about service, very well organised with an exceptional working knowledge of bar & restaurant operations, and order of service. We expect very busy days, so prior experience working in a high-volume venue is important - as is a love of the outdoors!

You are a natural leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you motivate team members and help the team develop to deliver a consistently high performance. Your exceptional beverage & bar operations knowledge will help create the ultimate rooftop experience in London.

Prior experience as a Bar Supervisor is also essential for this role, so you will need…

• A proven track record in a similar Assistant Bar Manager or Bar Supervisor role, ideally gained in a similar busy bar or restaurant, 'Lifestyle' boutique hotel, rooftop bar, or restaurant pop-up
• Confident organising, inspiring, and motivating a team, as well as strong experience in bar operations
• Hands on approach to service and happy to work outside for your entire shift
• Highly social, motivated, and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
• Confident mixologist, with a proven knowledge of spirits, and well versed in both classic and contemporary cocktails
• Prior experience using Squirrel epos, SevenRooms, and Fourth HR is advantageous (however full training will be given)
• Ability to develop and deliver effective training to maintain consistent service standards throughout the team
• Available full-time with full flexibility Monday - Sunday (in inclement weather The Rooftop closes and shifts are reallocated within the hotel's restaurants and bars)
• Available for the entire Rooftop season (initial contracts are fixed-term April - October, with the opportunity to transfer within the hotel's restaurants and bars thereafter)
