Role Overview:
As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the firm’s data architecture. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless data integration and support data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in a professional services environment, preferably within the legal, accounting, or audit sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems.
- Design and implement robust data architectures and models.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across various platforms.
- Optimise data workflows and improve data access and usability.

- Troubleshoot data-related issues and implement effective resolutions.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a professional services environment (legal, accounting, audit, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Expertise in ETL processes and tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend).
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance in a professional services context.
