Downstream Process Development Scientist

Do you have experience in chromatographic process development (e.g. with AKTA systems)? Do you have hands on experience in downstream processing within a biotech setting? We have an exciting opportunity available with a biotechnology company in Cambridge. Our client is looking to onboard an experienced scientist with prior R&D experience who can hit the ground running in a process development role.

The Role
As a scientist within the downstream process development team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and optimising processes to ensure the successful manufacturing of DNA products,
- Scaling up R&D downstream processes into larger scale manufacturing,
- Maintaining QMS documentation and creating / updating SOPs,
- Independently carrying out experimental troubleshooting.
Skills and Experience Needed
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- At least 1-2 years of relevant downstream processing experience within a biotech / R&D setting (essential).
- Experience with chromatographic process development using AKTA systems (essential).
- Comfortable working independently with AKTA Pure / Avant or Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) (essential).
- Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
- Hands on experience or knowledge of working in compliance with GMP regulations (essential).
- Experience with tech transfer of chromatographic processes from R&D to GMP / Analytics (desirable).
- Comfortable working within a QMS and writing / updating SOPs (desirable).
- Experience working with Design of Experiments (DoE) software (desirable).
