About the school:

We are a dedicated one-form entry primary school nestled in the heart of North Finchley, where we believe in creating a happy, safe, and exciting learning environment for all our students. With a strong family feel, our school is committed to supporting children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Down Syndrome. We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in our special ARP class, where you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be integral to our school community, working closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to help them navigate their learning experiences while fostering their social and emotional development. Your role will involve providing one-on-one support and guidance to students in the ARP class, collaborating with teachers to implement tailored learning plans and activities, supporting students during playtime and social interactions to promote inclusivity, assisting with classroom management to create a positive and engaging learning environment, and monitoring student progress while contributing to assessment reports.

Application Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or equivalent experience.

• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically and socially within the classroom.

• Implement and adapt learning strategies as required.

• Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere conducive to learning.

• Maintain records of student progress and share insights with teachers.

• Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
