Process Controls Engineer - Manchester - Hybrid

About the Role

A leading global chemical manufacturer is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to join its team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge automation and control systems, ensuring efficient, reliable, and optimised manufacturing processes. Working in a highly collaborative and technically advanced environment, you will play a key role in supporting operations both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for control systems at the Manchester plant (UK)
Actively participate in safety programs, promoting best practices and regulatory compliance.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems at the site.
Implement and test control system changes for equipment upgrades, capacity expansion, new product introductions, and process improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, supporting operational teams and technicians.
Conduct system analysis, improvement studies, and front-end design work, collaborating with external contractors and consultants.
Develop, maintain, and optimise control system implementations, procedures, and maintenance plans.
Monitor and improve instrumentation and control loop performance to enhance system efficiency.
Design and implement advanced control solutions to optimise production processes.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering.
3-5 years of experience maintaining control systems in an industrial setting.
Experience with Siemens PCS7 DCS (highly preferred).
Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a results-driven approach.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
