Specification Technologist

We are currently working with a food manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality products and services that meet the needs of customers and comply with all legal standards. They are seeking a Specification Technologist to join the team to ensure that all product specifications meet both legal and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and maintain accurate product specifications for both internal use and external customers

* Ensure all specifications meet legal obligations and customer requirements, providing correct information for legally compliant artwork

* Create submission details that include accurate ingredient declarations and nutritional information

* Maintain compliance with BRC and customer standards

* Provide knowledge on legal codes and customer practices regarding packaging and export ingredients

* Collaborate with other departments to ensure all specifications are accurate

* Proactively manage and update specifications to build customer confidence and meet industry standards

Requirements:

* Strong understanding of food labelling laws, ingredient declarations, and nutrition regulations

* Experience with BRC standards and maintaining compliance with customer and industry requirements

* Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, ensuring right-first-time specifications

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

* Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry

* Experience with specification software or customer portals

* Familiarity with legal requirements within the food industry
