Career Teachers are working in partnership with an independent specialist day school in Higher Disley, Stockport, who wish to appoint an Art Teacher to join their team, on a permanent basis.

Their highly experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people aged between 7 and 16 who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, and ADHD, and have many associated needs such as; social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs.

The ideal Art Teacher will have:

QTS or a strong teaching background
Experience working with children with autism spectrum conditions
A genuine passion for supporting students in their learning and development
A strong commitment to making a positive impact on childrens lives and educationYou will:

Set out schemes of work to facilitate delivery of the curriculum from KS2, leading to accredited awards for a range of abilities at KS4
Plan, assess and deliver outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable all young people to learn, whilst ensuring that pastoral needs are met
Establish excellent relationships with parents and carers
Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues and familiesThis school has an incredibly supportive culture, meaning this position may also be suitable for ECTs who feel they are ready to take on a challenge.
They also very much welcome applications from teachers wishing to transition from mainstream to working with smaller groups of students in special education. They will help you build your expertise and confidence to deliver high quality, lively and effective classroom teaching in an autism-friendly way through ongoing package of training, CPD and one to one supervision.
