Butler Rose is working with one of the largest housing associations in London and the South-East in their search for an AR Team Leader to join their team. This is a permanent role with hybrid working (3 days in the office) and will pay £44,000 to the successful candidate. As a senior member of the Finance team, you will drive a customer centric ethos and continuous improvement culture within our Finance team, ensuring all finance services deliver the best outcomes for our residents. You will manage and take responsibility for all aspects of the processing of rental, cash receipts and other income in the Accounts Receivable function. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the accurate and timely processing of all income received and invoices issued, ensuring adherence to procedures and financial regulations. * Ensure all customer payments and Housing Benefit are allocated to customers' accounts and posted onto systems accurately and promptly, investigate and correct anomalies. * Ensure queries and adjustments to accounts are dealt with promptly by the team and within agreed timescales. * Liaise with LA Housing Benefit departments, Social Services, Allpay, Banks and customers to facilitate prompt payment and accurate posting of monies received. Debt collection process to be initiated where necessary. * Participate in the annual review of internal controls and financial policies, delivering continuous performance improvements across the function. * Provide information to internal and external auditors as required. Deputise for the Finance Operations Manager AR. * Maintain accurate data, managing large complex data sets on excel and in-house systems. * Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant legislation, procedures and best practice for the Accounts Receivable function. * Manage and appraise the Finance Officers in the Accounts Receivable function fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Ideal Candidate Profile: * Prior experience running an Accounts Receivable Team in a large complex business. * Good understanding of the principles of double entry bookkeeping and the implications of accounting entries in general. * Proven experience of supervising the workload of a medium sized team in a high volume transactional organisation. * Able to resolve complex income issues through data analysis and proven problem-solving techniques. * Knowledge of month-end routines for preparation of reporting and reconciliations. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. * Proficiency in Excel knowledge of D365 preferred. * Studying towards an AAT or CCAB recognised accounting qualification with supporting CPD. * Uphold ethical principles including integrity, objectivity, professional competence, confidentiality, and professional behaviour We can offer you a full insight and job description on applying, please don't delay with your application.
