Commissioning Marine Electrician
Our prestigious, manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry, are currently seeking a Commissioning Marine Electrician to join their team.
The Commissioning Marine Electrician will support the Commissioning Team through all aspects of the Commissioning process.
This is a full time permanent position, based in Ipswich, Suffolk.
To travel, including overnight stays and overseas trips. 1 trip every 1 to 2 months approximate.
A full driving licence valid in the UK is required.
Qualifications
* Electrical qualifications/certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* In-depth knowledge of marine electrics.
* Audio Visual and Navigation systems.
* Extensive and practical working knowledge with AC/DC systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of different voltages (international variances).
* Networking and system interfacing, desirable.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Organising and planning skills.
* Extensive marine electrical experience
* Proven experience of reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
* Previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP yachts.
* Sailing experience, desirable.
* French polishing experience, desirable.
* Experience with cZone and Mastervolt installations, desirable.
* High standard of finish to work
* Thrives in a fast-paced environment working to tight deadlines
* Comfortable working autonomously
Key Job Responsibilities
• Assist Commissioning Skippers in identifying any electrical issues in new yachts, providing solutions and ensuring the issues are rectified
• Rectify any electrical defects prior to handover of the yacht.
• Ensure all work is carried out to the correct quality standards and follows best practice.
• Support the Commissioning Team with other duties including, but not limited to boat cleaning, site maintenance, trial sails and yacht deliveries.
• Co-ordinate with the Production and Design to ensure ongoing continuous improvement.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Self development and knowledge base of area of expertise
• To support Production and other areas within own area of expertise.
