Job Title: User Experience (UX) and Content Designer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented User Experience (UX) and Content Designer to join our clients team. This role combines UX design and content creation to deliver human-driven, intuitive, and accessible digital government services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences across various platforms, aligning with user needs and organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
UX Design:
- Apply user-centered design principles to create accessible and intuitive user experiences.
- Conduct user research to understand user needs and pain points.
- Design seamless user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Collaborate with product managers and developers to align designs with technical requirements.
- Maintain UX documentation, including personas and journey maps.
Content Design:
- Develop clear, concise, and engaging content for web pages, apps, and digital interfaces.
- Advocate for accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive content.
- Ensure content aligns with brand tone and voice.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate on content designs and improve usability.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work with developers, service designers, and other teams to integrate UX and content into product development.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and advocate for user-centered design throughout the development process.
Testing and Optimisation:
- Simplify complex information into user-friendly formats.
- Conduct usability testing to validate designs and content.
- Use data and performance metrics to refine and optimise content and UX design.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- NFQ Level 6 in Communications, English, Digital Media, or related fields.
- Proven experience in UX or content design, ideally within public service.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex information into clear, accessible content.
- Familiarity with user research methodologies and accessibility standards.
- Experience working in agile environments.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with government bodies or public-facing services.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEO best practices.
- Knowledge of information architecture and basic HTML/CSS skills.
- Bachelor's Degree (NFQ Level 7/8) in related fields is preferred.
