You will lead a small but expanding team, overseeing two QA professionals, a QA Manager, and a Specification Technologist. This is a big role with a lot of responsibility, offering an exciting challenge for someone who wants to make a real impact, drive improvements, and develop the function to their vision.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the technical team, ensuring strong quality and food safety culture across the site.

*

Work closely with QA, NPD, and production teams to ensure smooth product launches and compliance with food safety standards.

*

Maintain and improve BRCGS accreditation and retailer standards, ensuring best practices across the site.

*

Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

*

Oversee HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP processes, ensuring they are effectively managed and up to date.

*

Develop and deliver training programs to upskill the technical and production teams.

*

Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure high standards in raw materials, finished products, and processes.

*

Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and process improvements while maintaining quality and compliance.

*

Play a key role in site expansion projects, ensuring technical and quality requirements align with business growth.

What We're Looking For

*

Proven experience in a Technical Manager role (or similar) within food manufacturing.

*

Strong knowledge of BRCGS, retailer standards, HACCP, and food safety legislation.

*

Experience leading a technical/QA team in an SME or fast-paced manufacturing environment.

*

Ability to drive change, implement new processes, and work collaboratively across departments.

*

Confident communicator with the ability to engage teams and influence senior stakeholders.

*

A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for food safety and quality.

*

Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (preferred but not essential).

Why Join?

*

Opportunity to shape the technical function and make a significant impact.

*

Work in a growing SME with investment and ambitious expansion plans.

*

A chance to lead on exciting new projects and NPD launches.

*

Competitive salary with flexibility on hours for the right candidate.
