Salary: £27000 - £33000/annum plus 15 or 20% shift allowance

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintainer for a company based in the Newark area.

The role will start on days whilst training then will move to either a 2 shift rotation of earlies and nights or a 3 shift rotation of earlies, nights and afters. Please specify your preference at point of application.

Salary upto £33k on days DOE plus 15% or 20% shift allowance once on shift

You will be working as part of a maintenance team providing mechanical support for breakdown maintenance, preventative maintenance and safety improvement to ensure safety and continuity of production.

Responsibilities
* Ensure prompt response to breakdowns and effective fault diagnosis to minimise downtime
* Modify manufacturing machinery to ensure improvements in reliability and efficiency of machines
* Contribute to engineering actions required in the development and improvement of manufacturing facilities
* Create drawings of new/ modified machines to provide documentation of systems to aid fault finding
* Make accurate and clear records of repairs
* Monitor and maintain the use of the coolant system, slurry tanks and waste skips to ensure continuity/availability of use.

Improvement Maintenance
* Complete safety improvement activities on key machines and equipment as identified though risk assessments, SIR's and other notification mechanisms
* Assist in the development and deployment of TPM and asset care regimes, including 'hands on' involvement with asset care systems, 5's and autonomous maintenance
* Undertake hands on TPM activities to schedule
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the statutory regulations and to the required standard

Qualifications
BTEC, ONC or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Recognised relevant apprenticeship or equivalent

Experience
* Post apprenticeship experience an advantage
* Electrical competencies an advantage.
* Machine tool experience on either grinding machines or turning machines or both,
* Hydraulics and pneumatic systems
