Speech and Language Classroom Support - LEEDS

NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a School in Leeds who are looking for a Speech and Language Classroom Support to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with their learning and be able to direct, guide and assist them with their speech and language. If you are looking to support children with their learning, help in the development of their speech and language, have pastoral care experience and are looking to flourish in a new role with the support of a great school, then get in touch!

Speech and Language Classroom Support roles and Responsibilities:

Support the students with their learning and daily routines by encouraging clear and concise language and communication.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behaviour, promoting respect, ensuring the safety of all students and differentiating the deliverance of the learning.
Support the student with their speech and language by using tailored techniques in the classroom, as well as help support them with their learning.
Evaluate pupil progress through various assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey, both to the pupil, other staff and have good clear and concise communication with parents/carers.Speech and Language Support Non-Negotiables:

Full-time availability and able to provide 2 professional references.
Be comfortable and confident in supporting children who need extra support with speech and language and be able to navigate and manage children's behaviours.
Have recent, and relevant experience working with children or those with additional needs.
Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Hold patience, empathy, and ability to build rapport with children.
Valid right to work in the UK
