We are currently working with a local authority in the North-East, seeking to hire a Highway Inspector. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and upkeep of road infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine highway inspections to identify defects or potential hazards.
Evaluate the condition of roads, footpaths, and cycleways.
Record and report issues such as potholes, damaged signage, and obstructions.
Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Investigate road traffic accidents, collect evidence, and provide detailed reports.
Oversee construction and maintenance activities to verify adherence to approved plans and specifications.
Keep thorough records of inspections, maintenance activities, and incidents.Job Requirements

Previous experience in highway inspection or a related field.
Strong knowledge of highway maintenance and safety standards.
Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in computer software for data entry and reporting.
