Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Good" single form entry school in Widnes as they are looking to recruit an experienced and level 3 qualified teaching assistant to support across KS2 (Key Stage 2). This is a temporary to permanent contract starting from September 2024, meaning a permanent contract is guaranteed for the right applicant.Your new roleIn your new role new role as a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant within this school you will be supporting the Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 classes. You will work under the instruction of the class teacher to offer a stimulating and engaging environment for all pupils and use a myriad of positive behaviour techniques. You will work with your new pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, holding interventions and booster sessions in core subjects, and generally taking a pupil-centred approach to education. You will build strong constructive relationships with your new pupils to ensure that they reach their full academic potential. Other duties will include classroom management, liaising with parents/guardians and teachers on pupil progress, transitions, and SATs boosters.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, as well as:

  • Previous experience with KS2
  • Expert knowledge of the KS2 national curriculum
  • The ability to hold intervention and booster subjects
  • Be willing to commit to a full-time contract
