Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a successful and growing organisation who have just recently moved into brand new offices in the Staverton area. The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing my client’s global IT infrastructure, focusing on the UK region. This role ensures that the infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage the IT Infrastructure and Support Engineer and IT Support Technician in the UK, creating a positive and efficient work environment.
- Mentorship: Help junior IT staff with tough technical problems and guide them to improve their skills.
- Infrastructure Management: Take care of the UK office’s IT systems, making sure they are secure, fast, and can grow with the company.
- Global Collaboration: Work with IT leaders in the US and Italy to keep infrastructure standards, processes, and policies aligned.
- Project Leadership: Lead UK infrastructure projects like system upgrades and new tech rollouts, ensuring they’re done on time and within budget.
- Security and Compliance: Set up strong cybersecurity protections and ensure we follow rules like ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.
- Disaster Recovery: Create and manage plans for handling IT emergencies, ensuring the company can keep running during crises.
Experience and skills required:
- Infrastructure Expertise: Advanced knowledge of network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms (Azure).
- Security and Compliance: Deep understanding of security protocols and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials, with experience in implementing and auditing secure infrastructure.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects concurrently, demonstrating strong planning, execution, and leadership skills.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management, with a proven track record of leading infrastructure projects in a mid to large-scale organization.
