About the role

As HL continues it digital journey, we are scaling up our Engineering capabilities within our Azure Cloud Platform team. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a proven track record in delivering and maintaining cloud solutions within an enterprise environment. You will be joining a committed technology team and will play a significant role in our technology transformation journey, working on our Azure Cloud infrastructure service migration. What you'll be doing

  • Delivering a best-in-class service within a high performing infrastructure service team
  • Providing maintenance and deployment services across our Azure Cloud Platform and the on-premise VMware virtual environment
  • Leading Major Incident events, ensuring RCA is carried out for Incidents and Problems
  • Leading by example to create a culture of continuous service improvements
  • Working with the Azure Technical Lead to help to develop our service strategy
  • Responsible for recording, managing, and approving changes in line with ITIL best practice
  • Creating, updating, and where appropriate, signing off documentation and knowledge items
  • Managing the relationship with 3rd party vendors to ensure the successful procurement and installation of services across the HL environment
  • Implementing and maintaining robust security controls within the cloud
  • Protecting sensitive data and ensuring compliance with data governance standards

About you

  • 3+ years working with Cloud technology including; Azure Networking, Azure Virtual Machines and Scale Sets, Azure storage, Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
  • Experience with Azure Platform deployment and on-prem to cloud migration projects
  • Strong experience of on-premise Windows Server Platforms, products, and associated technologies
  • Understanding of Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework, Azure Landing Zones and Well Architected Framework
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and related tools
  • Financial efficiency: Analysing system performance and providing reports to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Highly articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Qualified to Microsoft AZ-900
  • A willingness to provide on-call support services

Desirable:

  • Experience in scripting: Automating infrastructure deployments in the Cloud with Terraform and Azure Pipelines
  • Defining business operational requirements and implementing service designs
  • Serverless architecture experience
  • Experience working in Financial Services
  • Qualified to Microsoft AZ-104 (or equivalent)
  • Qualified to ITIL 4 Foundation

Interview process

The first stage will incorporate competency-based questions including an assessment of your technical knowledge and transferable skills. For candidates who progress to the second stage, there will be a presentation to prepare and deliver.

SalaryCirca £55,000pa depending on experience + on call allowance (circa £5,000) & benefits below

Working Schedule

This role is a permanent role, Monday - Friday 37.5 hours a week. We offer hybrid working whereby you'll be required in the office one day per month as a minimum.
