TITLEDesign Engineer  INTRODUCTIONAs part of a continued commitment to delivering product innovation our client, a market-leading manufacturer of branded consumer and commercial products, is looking to hire a senior design engineer to drive future product development.  LOCATIONMidlands (office-based role).For commuting, ideal home locations would be: Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Tamworth, Lichfield, Burton-upon-Trent, Coalville, Leicester, Coventry, Rugby, Northampton, Leamington Spa, or close.THE JOB ROLEThe Design Engineer role is a diverse position that will see you engage with a multitude of different teams and stakeholders to deliver new small- and large-scale projects that are key to the product design and manufacturing processes.

• Project-based input across material use, product and component design, use of materials in production, packaging, transport and distribution.
• Engagement with the product design and engineering lifecycle from CAD design, sourcing materials, engaging with 3rd parties, financials, hands-on product testing etc.
• Collating data, analysis and reporting.
• Working with 3rd party electronics component suppliers.

THE PERSON NEEDEDFor the Design Engineer role our client is ideally looking for someone with demonstrable experience of product design and development in a comparable field:

• c5 years experience of hands-on end-to-end product design
• Ideally experience working in a consumer or branded product environment
• An innovative and adaptable approach to driving positive change.
