Position: KS2 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 2 at a vibrant primary school in the Salford area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with SEN in Key Stage 2, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist with the development and implementation of personalised learning plans.
- Support the child in accessing the curriculum, helping them to engage in classroom activities and manage their learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and social interactions, supporting the child's emotional and social development.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks and record keeping related to the child's learning and well-being.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to help the child feel included and confident.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children, ideally within a KS2 setting, and knowledge of SEN, particularly in the context of learning difficulties or disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to supporting children with SEN.
- A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to apply them effectively.
- A team player, able to collaborate with other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN-specific training) would be desirable but not essential.
