About the role
Our client is one of the UK's most well known Construction businesses. Due to a number of successful project wins they are looking to add an Electrical Design Engineer to their Birmingham office. The successful candidate will be self sufficient and be able to develop a model/design unaided. You will be working on some of the most prestigious projects currently being built in the UK. they work on a hybrid basis (3 days a week at the office, 2 days at home).
What you'll be doing
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities;
* Design LV electrical distribution systems
* Create the following documentation:
* Specifications & Datasheets
* Cable Calculations & Schedules
* Drawings (via CAD team)
* Review and check manufacturer document / information for compliance with
project specifications.
* Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and
suppliers.
Who we're looking for
Qualities and experience:
* Must be proficient in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign.
* Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and
project teams to deliver cost effective and acceptable design solution
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly
* Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design.
* Excellent IT Skills are desirable.
* Microsoft Office experience is essential including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint.
* Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
* Experience in a broad range of heavy industries such as Petrochemical, Power
Generation, Renewables and Nuclear.
Beneficial experience:
* Design of HV electrical systems
* Use of AutoCAD and/or Revit software
* Use of Dialux or Relux software
* Use of SKM, ETAP, Digsilent, PSCAD software
* Design of ATEX systems
