Our client, a leading consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will take a strategic lead on Southern Water, delivering essential infrastructure solutions during the AMP8 investment programme from 2025 to 2030.

About the Role

The Engineering Manager reports to and works alongside the Head of Engineering, and will be a key member of the CMDP Design Leadership Team. You will be accountable for the delivery of engineering solutions across the AMP8 water and wastewater programme from initial definition through to detailed design and construction support.
Based at CMDP's core Falmer (Brighton) design office, this role involves home working and supporting both remote and office-based design teams in Manchester. Key responsibilities include leading timely design production and providing strong resource management at the Framework level.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the delivery of engineering solutions across the water and wastewater programme
Managing design production timelines efficiently
Coordinating between internal teams and stakeholders for successful project delivery
Maintaining high standards in process safety, quality, and environmental leadership
Providing strong cross-discipline engineering understanding and interaction
Overseeing project controls including schedule, cost, risk, and change management
Ensuring client satisfaction through effective relationship management
Contributing to the development and influence of project strategies and solutions

Role Requirements:

Significant project engineering management experience in a multi-discipline engineering design contracting/consultancy environment
Experience in the Water/Wastewater Sector
Cross-discipline engineering understanding for engineering, procurement, and project management
Thorough knowledge of project delivery from work winning to project handover
Strong focus on process safety, quality, and environmental leadership
Knowledge and understanding of project controls including schedule, cost, risk, and change management
Collaborative, innovative, and adaptable
Customer-facing capabilities with proven relationship management skills
Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering-related subject, preferably chartered
