We have an exciting opportunity in South Wales for a BOHS P401 qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst to join a friendly and well-respected UKAS accredited Asbestos Laboratory. This role would suit someone who is looking to join a forward thinking and flexible Asbestos Consultancy. You will be responsible for carrying out bulk sample analysis in line with HSG 248 guidelines, alongside calibrating equipment, completing job sheets and providing excellent support and technical support to clients when required.

Consideration will be given to candidates from: Cardiff, Cwmbran, Pontypool, Chepstow, Bridgend, Pontypridd, Blackwood, Porthcawl, Barry, Port Talbot, Merthyr Tydfil, Bristol, Bath, Trowbridge, Chippenham, Shepton Mallett.

Experience & Qualifications:
" At a minimum will hold the BOHS P401 qualification.
" Will have experience working within a UKAS accredited Asbestos Laboratory.
" Excellent observational skills, keen eye for detail.
" Well versed in HSG 248 guidelines.
" Good IT skills.
" Excellent communication skills via phone, email, and face to face.

The Role:
" Carrying out sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy.
" Safely bagging and correctly labelling asbestos samples on arrival to the laboratory.
" Logging all samples onto internal systems upon arrival to the laboratory.
" Preparing samples for bulk analysis.
" Ensuring work is carried out in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
" Completing job sheets using data from sample analysis.
" Calibrating equipment correctly to ensure accurate results.
" Ensuring the laboratory is kept tidy.
" Assisting in maintaining the companies UKAS accreditation.
" Providing help and support to new starters.
" Liaising with clients, providing support and advice when required.
