We are seeking an experienced and proactive Defects Manager to join a prestigious luxury house builder, overseeing the management and resolution of post-completion defects across high-end residential developments. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an industry-leading company, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

The Role

As a Defects Manager, you will be responsible for managing the defects process from handover through to the end of the warranty period, ensuring that all remedial works are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will liaise with homeowners, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly, maintaining the reputation of the brand for excellence and customer care.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding post-completion defects.

  • Coordinate and manage contractors and trades to complete remedial works efficiently.

  • Conduct site inspections to assess defects and determine necessary corrective actions.

  • Work closely with the customer care team to ensure all reported issues are addressed within agreed time frames.

  • Maintain detailed records of defects, resolutions, and contractor performance.

  • Ensure compliance with NHBC and other industry regulations.

  • Provide feedback to construction and design teams to improve build quality on future projects.

Requirements
  • Experience in defects management, customer care, or aftercare within the housebuilding sector.

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and building regulations.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage customer expectations effectively.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including contractors and site teams.

  • A proactive and hands-on approach with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

  • Experience working with luxury or high-end residential developments is an advantage.
