Hours: 40 per week, Immediate start ongoing.
A Joiner in Void Properties specialises in preparing vacant properties for new tenants. This role involves performing a range of joinery tasks to ensure that void properties are maintained, repaired, and refurbished to a high standard, making them ready for occupation. The joiner will work closely with other trades and property managers to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
The role:
* Maintenance and Repairs: Perform maintenance and repair work on wooden structures and fixtures within vacant properties.
* Refurbishment: Carry out refurbishment tasks, including the installation of new doors, windows, skirting boards, Kitchens and other woodwork as required.
* Material Selection and Preparation: Select appropriate materials and prepare them for installation, ensuring precision in measurements and cuts.
* Joinery Techniques: Utilise various joinery techniques to construct, install, and repair wooden fixtures and structures.
* Quality Control: Ensure all work meets high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
* Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment in all void properties.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other trades, property managers, and stakeholders to complete projects on time and within budget.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in joinery and woodworking techniques, particularly in refurbishment and maintenance.
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a joiner, with specific experience working in void or vacant properties preferred.
* Certifications: Relevant trade certifications or qualifications in carpentry or joinery.
* Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
* Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality work.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
* Time Management: Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Advanced Certifications: Additional certifications in specialised joinery techniques or materials.
* Additional Certification: CSCS Card, Full Driving License, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, Manual Handling & Face Fit.
