Long Term Futures is looking for a compassionate and skilled 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who follows the EYFS curriculum. This full-time role is based at a supportive primary school in Erdington, running Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30 during term time. The role involves working closely with the pupil, who can display challenging behaviour, to support their learning and development. For the right candidate, there is potential for this to become a permanent position.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ASD, adapting to their individual needs
Assist with academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring engagement with the EYFS curriculum
Use structured and creative approaches to keep the pupil engaged in learning activities
Support the pupil's communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
Implement positive behaviour management techniques to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environmentThe ideal candidate will:

Hold a relevant qualification, such as a TA certificate or a related degree
Have experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASD
Be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting the unique needs of the pupil
Be skilled in positive behaviour management; training such as TeamTeach is highly desirable
Quickly build rapport with the pupil and school staff, fostering a supportive learning environmentAbout the School:
