Are you an enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a friendly and vibrant primary school in Burnage. This exciting role offers a unique blend of teaching support in Year 6, alongside providing administrative support for the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality teaching support in Year 6, assisting with lessons, group work, and interventions.
  • Lead small groups and one-to-one sessions to support pupils' academic progress.
  • Work closely with the SENCO to assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support for children with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of classroom resources.
  • Contribute to monitoring and assessing student progress.
  • Provide administrative support to the SENCO, including record-keeping, data management, and preparation of documents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all children.
Key Requirements:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting, ideally with Year 6 and/or children with special educational needs.
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and how to support children’s learning effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, proactive, and positive approach to your work.
  • A passion for making a difference in children’s education and well-being.
