Vetro Housing are actively recruiting for support workers that have experience of working with people experiencing Domestic Abuse. You will be working in emergency temporary accommodation supporting people and their children who need a safe place to stay

Overview

• Title: Refuge Support Worker
• Shift Pattern: 9-5 or sleep in shifts
• Salary: £12.82-£25.64 (including holiday pay)
  
  Duties:
• Report, record, and monitor all maintenance and routine checks
• Monitor CCTV
• Identify where necessary to call the police or other emergency services
• Encourage and support engagement
• Report any safeguarding issues/concerns
• Communicate and engage with service users as per their support plans
• Be sensitive and empathetic to each individual's circumstances
• Monitor CCTV

To be successful you will have:

• Demonstrable experience of working with people experiencing Domestic Abuse
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and build supportive relationships
• A strong understanding and practical knowledge relating to issues that typically disrupt progress in journeys towards independence. E.g. mental health, substance use, self-harm, domestic violence, anger management etc
• Experience in harm reduction
• Demonstrable skills in developing and delivering group work facilitation
• Driving license and access to own vehicle
