Job description:Role overview: our clients are seeking a newly qualified Criminal Defence solicitor to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, providing legal advice and representation to clients in a variety of criminal matters. You will work across the police station, Magistrates Court and Crown court, ensuring our clients receive the highest standards of legal representation. The prospective candidate will be assisted in completing duty qualification, if needed.Key responsibilities:

1. Manage caseload from inception to conclusion, including but not limited to theft, assault, drug offences and driving offences.
2. Representing clients in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court, preparing and presenting cases effectively.
3. Maintain excellent client care standards, ensuring clear communication and a high level of support throughout the legal process.
4. Prepare and manage all necessary legal documents, including case files, statements and court applications.
5. Utilise IT systems and legal software to manage case files. Our firm uses ‘Leap’ case management system. Previous experience using Leap is advantageous however, full training will be provided if you are not already familiar with the system.
