An innovative environmental engineering consultancy is seeking an ambitious HR professional to join their company as part of the leadership team as their stand-alone HR Manager.

Working closely with the current Directors, this is a great opportunity to join a successful, dynamic and growing company in a newly created role. The ideal candidate will be an experienced hands-on HR generalist, you’ll be either working in an HR Manager role currently or you’ll be an aspiring HR Manager working in a Senior HR Advisory capacity. Candidates will preferably be CIPD level 5 or above, or studying for it.

They’re a great company to work for offering flexible working hours where required and hybrid working. That said, this role will be 100% office based initially before potentially becoming hybrid should the role holder wish.

The role is paying between £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience and offers very good benefits including a discretionary annual bonus and a 7% matched pension contribution.  

In this role you’ll:

  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with UK employment law, including staff handbook, contracts, relevant policies, template letters.
  • Maintain and manage HR Systems ensuring accurate employee records.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for all roles within the company.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts and manage grievance and disciplinary procedure.
  • Advise managers and team leaders on employment law and HR best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance the performance appraisal system, ensuring employee reviews are conducted regularly and consistently.
  • Collate individual development plans and build a company-wide learning development plan.
  • Create or source internal training programmes
  • Coordinate internal and external training activities
  • Manage annual pay review cycle including obtaining the required salary surveys and advising the business on the outcome.
  • Review and update compensation policies as needed to ensure competitiveness
