Automation & Controls Engineer 

Location: Coventry 
Salary: Circa £55,000 DOE 
Hours: Monday - Friday, Days Only (No Weekends)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer with a passion for improving manufacturing efficiency?  This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading food manufacturer and play a key role in enhancing automation across the business.

About the Role

As an Automation & Controls Engineer, you will:
✔ Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems to improve production processes.
✔ Enhance and maintain SCADA systems to optimize plant performance.
✔ Identify and implement automation improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
✔ Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
✔ Ensure all control systems comply with industry standards and health & safety regulations.
✔ Support the integration of new technology and equipment into existing systems.

What We're Looking For

✅ Proven experience in automation and controls engineering within a manufacturing environment (preferably food or FMCG).
✅ Strong PLC programming skills (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
✅ Experience with SCADA systems for monitoring and control.
✅ Ability to diagnose faults and optimize control systems.
✅ A proactive mindset, with a focus on process improvement and problem-solving.
✅ A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
