Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Lewisham
Position: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Technician to join our vibrant secondary school in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the next generation of scientists and to work in a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up equipment, materials, and chemicals for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Support science teachers in practical demonstrations and experiments, ensuring lessons run smoothly
Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and ensure a safe and clean environment for students and staff
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplies of chemicals and equipment
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on lab equipment
Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with all school and legal safety standards
Assist with administrative tasks related to the science department as requiredRequirements:

Strong interest in science subjects, with a desire to support secondary education
Previous experience as a science technician or in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required-enthusiastic candidates willing to learn on the job are encouraged to apply
Excellent organisational skills, with a meticulous approach to handling scientific materials and safety protocols
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and follow instructions precisely
