PED Crane Operator

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Pedestal Crane Operative to join our team. As a PED Crane Operative, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a pedestal-mounted crane, ensuring that lifting tasks are completed according to industry safety standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a pedestal crane to lift, move, and place materials, equipment, and cargo in various construction, industrial, or maritime environments.
  • Perform daily safety checks and pre-operation inspections of crane equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Coordinate with ground crew, supervisors, and other operators to ensure smooth and safe operation during lifting procedures.
  • Safely load and unload materials, machinery, and other equipment, ensuring proper placement and secure handling.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure accurate understanding of tasks.
  • Monitor crane load capacity and adhere to weight limits, ensuring that lifting operations are safe and within crane specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all company safety policies and industry standards.
  • Report any malfunctions or safety concerns to management and assist in troubleshooting or maintenance when necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of crane operations, maintenance, and any incidents as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Crane Operator certification (PED or relevant type).
  • Previous experience operating pedestal cranes or similar heavy machinery.
  • Strong understanding of lifting operations, weight calculations, and crane limitations.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
  • Physical ability to work in various environments and weather conditions, often in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and lifting procedures.
