Job Overview: Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the quality control activities relating to operations within the business. The role will include liaising with all departments to ensure all quality requirements are understood, implemented, and maintained.
Responsibilities and Duties: Quality Engineer

* Identification and implementation of quality controls within the production areas.

* Lead First Article Inspections.

* Support the Inspection of wheels and axles using both CMM, FARO and hand measuring equipment.

* Support 1st 2nd and 3rd Party audits.

* Primary contact for all customer quality related correspondence.

* Use problem solving tools and techniques such as 8D process, Ishikawa and FMECA to investigate product quality issues and implement corrective actions.

* Monitor and analyse production quality data and implement and sustain quality improvements.

* Analyse product non-conformance data and implement corrective actions.

* Support new product implementation, ensuring product compliance.

* Report monthly quality KPI's.

* Manage the calibration system.

* Promote a positive Health and safety culture.

Experience: Quality Engineer

* A minimum of two years working in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.

Required skills & Qualifications: Quality Engineer

* A recognised qualification in a technical subject.

* Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.

* Ability to use handheld measuring equipment is essential.

* Excellent problem solving skills.

* Ability to communicate with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Computer literate - Microsoft Word, Excel
