Simon Acres Recruitment are proud to be working with the largest independent merchant group in the South of the UK, who are looking for a Category Manager based in or around the Northamptonshire area.
This is a remote based position, contractually you will be working from home, with an expectation to be based on the road 2 to 3 days of the week meeting in branch and with suppliers.
This opportunity is paying a basic of £45,000, plus company car or car allowance and bonus. £63,500 OTE inclusive of bonus and car allowance.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
The Role:
- As a professional Plumbing & Heating or Bathroom Category Manager you will hold relevant experience in complex and diverse environments within a merchant settling, working successfully both independently and highly collaboratively.
- Supporting the creation of incremental value through excellent negotiation skills with all suppliers within the portfolio.
- Responsible for the execution of the Category strategy.
- Ability to develop Category plans using Customer & Market insights.
- In conjunction with the wider team, you will play an active part in the process of delivering the pricing strategy for the Category.
- Supporting the development of the customer experience to include promotional activity, space planning & in-branch look and feel.
- Identify trends in pricing and ability to build plans to optimise margin.
- Supporting the delivery of the company profitability targets.
- Monitoring Category results, identifying trends in the business and market environment, and driving product Group performance.
- Providing monthly reports on savings, benefits, key initiatives, and projects through the development of an effective Category Management dashboard.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience of delivering in a high-performance merchant organisation.
- Strong and proven track record within Category Management.
- Good understanding of Category Management in a B2C environment.
- Resilient negotiator with influential skills who works well under pressure.
- Exceptional problem solving, financial and analytical skills.
- Excellent communicator who excels in relationship development.
- Must have a full UK driving licence.
