Our client is a leading global distributor of specialty chemicals. They wish to appoint a Technical Sales Manager who will be involved in the sales and development of the Beauty and Personal Care portfolio, driving business growth through the initiation and conversion of new cosmetic opportunities with existing and prospective customers throughout the Midlands and South UK.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your commercial and leadership skills within a dynamic multinational company environment who offers hands-on training. It is ideally suited to a candidate who has a solid technical background in cosmetic and personal care formulation and who has either some sales experience or looking to transit to the commercial side of the business. Full commercial training will be provided.
Responsibilities
• Supports the Business Manager in driving the growth of the Beauty & Personal Care business in the UK by actively establishing and maintaining the opportunity pipeline, seeing this through to conversion.
• Works closely with the Applications Manager, Account Managers, and principals to answer briefs and prepare proactive presentations.
• Provides specialised advice and technical expertise to customers and internal stakeholders, and where required on key customer visits to foster and develop relationships.
• Conducts regular reviews with the commercial team to ensure opportunities are followed up and supported in converting to sales.
• Maintains, develops and promotes relationships with the main Beauty & Personal Care suppliers.
• Attend exhibitions, conferences, and any other event of interest.
• Takes the lead for local projects related to selected brands.
• Creative input on social media content
Candidate Profile
• A degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Cosmetic Science or Chemistry, or equivalent industry experience
• Substantial technical experience within the Beauty & Personal Care industry
• Commercial experience desirable but not essential
Other information
• Homebased role, up to 70% travel within UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel.
• Standard working hours, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
• 25 days holiday + great benefits
• Salary up to £60,000.
