Keoghs have an exciting opportunity to join their Motor Team as a Paralegal. This is a great role for a graduate looking to get their first steps into a legal career.
We offer fantastic hybrid working with working only 1 day in the Leeds office.
Job Purpose
Undertake a variety of data gathering and information recording activities, on behalf of a File Handler, to facilitate the rapid settlement of cases and the closure of files.

Key Accountabilities
- Acknowledging instructions, initially liaising with clients and other parties.
- Drafting appropriate documentation.
- Serving appropriate documentation upon any third parties where applicable.
- Liaise with the Insurer client regarding liability and chase accordingly to expedite settlement or repudiation.
- Obtain additional information and/or documentation from the insurer client and/or third parties to facilitate File Handler negotiations.
- Follow up on outstanding instructions and other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.
- Obtaining additional information and/or documentation as required from parties.
- To provide general assistance and ad hoc duties to support the File Handler as and when required.
- To ensure all case management and matter information is inputted on to the system in a timely and accurate manner to ensure completeness of records and to ensure accurate reporting of information to our clients.

Working Hours
35 hours per week
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Strong organisational skills, together with the ability to prioritise their workload.
- Able to effectively work to set deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience of ;
o Following a semi-prescribed programme of work.
o Dealing with calls and enquiries from customers, suppliers and/or the public.
o Gathering and recording information.
- IT Literate.
- Proficient in MS Office (notably Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Experience of using a Claims/Case Management system.
- Proficient in the use of alpha numerical filing systems.
- GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English.
