Management Accountant - Based Daventry

Basic salary £40,000 to £48,000 depending on experience

My client is looking for a Management Accountant who is either fully or part qualified accountant, studying towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or qualified through experience and can demonstrate experience in management accounting or a similar role, any experience of working in distribution, logistics or warehousing industry would be advantageous.

As a Management Accountant you will be skilled in management reporting, financial operations and planning, cost management, looking to continuously improve systems and processes and demonstrate managing a small finance team.

As a Management Accountant, this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, written and spoken, good relationship building skills, analytical thinking, and a customer focus approach and proficiency in accounting software, preferably Sage and advanced Excel skills.

Duties

* You will provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to senior management.

* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports.

* Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning and perform variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for deviations from budget.

* Analyse financial performance and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

* Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.

* Monitor and control operating expenses to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.

* Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to improve efficiency.

* Maintain the cash flow to support short-term business decisions

* Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes

* Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies

* Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes

* Support the sales and purchase ledger functions

* Cover payroll when required

* Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.

* Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in management accounting.

* Lead, manage, supervise two junior finance assistants, train, coach and mentor
