Interim Head of Service, £52ph, Youth Justice Service, LondonRole Overview:Pertemps are seeking an experienced Head of Service to join Southwark council’s Youth Justice Service. This pivotal leadership position requires an individual with a proven track record in managing youth justice services. You will be responsible for driving a strategic, "child first" approach within youth justice, ensuring operational excellence and achieving positive outcomes for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and develop the strategic direction of the Youth Justice Service, embedding a “child first” approach.
- Secure political, senior management, and stakeholder agreement on strategic objectives.
- Prepare the service for compliance with the new inspection regime.
- Oversee the work and coordination of multidisciplinary systemic practice groups, ensuring performance targets and standards are met or exceeded.
- Provide visible and active leadership, being borough-based and co-located within children’s services.
Requirements: - Registered with Social Work England
- Extensive management within a statutory youth justice setting is essential
- Comprehensive understanding of the legal and statutory framework governing youth justice services.
- Up-to-date knowledge of recent research and best practices in youth justice and social care.
