Senior Commercial Finance Manager | £80,000-£90,000 | South London (hybrid working) | 6-month contract with a view to going permanent | Multichannel Retailer

A Senior Commercial Finance Manager is required to work for a well-renowned, retail conglomerate, based in South-West London (4 days in the office), on a 6-month contract (with a view the role could go permanent), reporting directly into the Finance Director. This is an opportunity to work for a household name & multichannel retailer with a clear 3-year growth strategy including expanding their product range and driving e-commerce revenues.

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager is an integral role, you will take ownership for the budgeting and forecasting, weekly trade and sales reporting as well as financial modelling. You will partner closely with non-finance stakeholders and focus on driving change and maximising revenues across the brand.

Responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the budgeting and forecasting for the brand including running the budgeting and forecasting models and partnering with departmental heads to set annual budgets
• Production of the weekly sales, margin, and trade reporting for the business, providing information on store and ecommerce sales as well as analysis behind the numbers
• Working with the Finance Director to produce and update the 3-year plans from a financial perspective
• Performing post and pre-investment appraisal to include analysis of site profitability and modelling around new stores
• Working with the business on any ad-hoc reporting requests
• Partnering with non-finance stakeholders on a regular basis, particularly buying and merchandising, challenging assumptions, and providing analysis around costs and profit levers
• Supporting and challenging buying and merchandising teams around pricing decisions
• Providing the Finance Director with commentary on the monthly management accounts

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be qualified with proven experience working in a commercially focused role within the retail sector (ideally fashion retail or grocery). You will have experience owning the production and analysis of trade and sales reporting, managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial models. Proven experience partnering and influencing senior stakeholders is also key to this role. You will be proactive with the confidence to drive change and will thrive at working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
