Role: Senior Planning Officer

Location: Huyton Library, Knowsley, L36 9GD
Contract Length: Initial 3-month contract, with chance of extension
Pay Rate: £40 per hour (via Umbrella)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role:
Subject to overall control of Head of Planning to:-
Carry out the functions of the Council on Development Control matters demonstrating excellent technical and customer care skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• To deputise for the Development Control Team Leader in his/her absence as required by the Development Manager.
• To ensure planning applications and appeals are determined in accordance with service and business plan targets - and are in accordance with relevant planning guidance and legislation.
• To prepare reports and make recommendations to Council Committees and on matters to be decided under delegated powers - including presenting reports as appropriate.
• To assist and support the Technical Assistants as necessary in order to enable the team to meet service and business plan targets. To give training and support to team members as required by the Development Control Team Leader/Development Manager
