Pay Rate: £12.00 per hour

Working hours: Monday to Friday 07:00-16:00

Contract: Temp to perm

gap-personnel are currently recruiting for a temp to perm role of Warehouse & Transport Operative, for one of the growing manufacturers in Oxford.

The role will be A split role between Transport & Warehouse. Schedule the distribution of orders using the branch fleet and routing systems considering efficiency, vehicle maintenance & co-ordination with other operational departments. Be a point of contact for drivers ensuring excellent service to customers & branch while also meeting safety & legal compliance. Assist in receiving, storage, counting of stock also picking and loading of stock in the warehouse & yard being efficient, accurate and timely managed. To maintain a clean and safe working environment and to be an asset to the day-to-day goings within the branch.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily planning of routes in advance and prepare picks for Warehouse

Generate routes for drivers being as efficient while also maximising capacity

Ensure vehicles run in line with weight limits & transport regulations

Daily/Weekly checks with Drivers

Meetings with Operations & ensuring success of branch plans & targets

Receive goods inwards, unload, inspect (Report if any breakages) and store in the correct location

Prepare orders according to sales requirements and load onto vehicles

Perform stock checks including counts and date checks

Maintain the warehouse and stock in a clean and tidy condition

Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe condition

Work in a manner which ensures the safety of self and colleagues

Any other reasonable duties within the individual's capabilities

Serve & build relationships with other depts & customers via e-mail, telephone, collection and returns point

Comply with all processes, policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Transport Planning/Experience (Preferable)

Knowledge of basic health & safety requirements (preferable)

Previous Yard/Warehouse experience (preferable)

Strategic, efficient thinking & adaptable to grow with business

Well organised, good problem solving, driven & resilient

Good communication skills & collaborative

Committed to quality, excellence & service to branch & customers

Being able to work well and efficiently independently

Numerate and basic knowledge of computers, handheld devices and using electronic applications

Good data accuracy

Forklift Truck Licence

Valid UK Driving Licence (Preferable)

Weekend working highly unlikely but may be required
